Before you can use Versions, your Project Server administrator must create
the default Version types for your organization by doing the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Manage enterprise features link
4. Click the Versions link in the sidepane
5. Click the Add Version button and create the new Verion type(s)

To use Versions in Project Server, you must first save every project as the
default .Published version. After doing so, you may then click File - Save
As and save the project as an alternate version.

Furthermore, be forewarned that you cannot make changes to an alternate
version and then save it as the .Published version. If you need to do so,
then you must save the alternate version of the project as an .mpp file,
delete the .Published version (and any other versions of the project) from
the Project Server database, and then import the alternate version as the
..Published version using Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to
Enterprise. Hope this helps.
