Project view not refreshing in PWA

J

Jose M. Dominguez

Hi,

We are using Project Proffessional 2003 sp2 and Project server 2003 sp2.
The problem is happening when we publish one specific project (it doesn't
happen with other projects of our organization).

Since 2 months ago, the fields of work and actual work are not updated in
the project view of project web access. We have republished the project in
many ocassions but still the project view is not updated.

We have been able to see that in the VIEWDROP folder of our server, when we
publish or republish this project, no XML file is generated, while with all
the other projects the XML file gets generated and is processed within 1
minute (more or less).

Based on your description of the publishing problems with this project, I
strongly suspect that the project has become corrupted. Assuming this is
the case, you and your PM would need to do the following:

1. The PM should save the project as a local file (on his/her hard drive or
network folder) as an XML file and then close the project file.
2. The Project Server administrator should delete the project from the
Project Server database. If the project has Risks, Issues, or Documents
associated with it, the Project Server administrator should follow the
directions in the following FAQ to preserver the subweb for the project:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/DeleteProjectWithoutSubweb.htm

3. The PM should reopen the XML file and save it as an MPP file. This will
usually resolve the corruption. The PM should close the project.
4. The PM should use the Import Project Wizard (Tools - Enterprise
Options - Import Project to Enterprise) to import the project back into the
Project Server database.
5. The Project Server administrator should attach the newly-imported
project to the original subweb using the directions in the FAQ.

Hope this helps.
