Project Web Access 2007 Timesheet Retrieval

Hi Barbara,

From my understanding your users use the 2007 timesheet to enter actual
time. If you would like to update your Project tasks with the timesheet data,
then you will need to ensure that all users update their timesheet on a task
by task level. Once you have achieved this, your users can import timesheet
data into the Project tasks. this can be done in the "My task" screen.

Once your uses have opened teh "My tasks" screen they will find a button
called "import timesheet". This functionality allows users to import the time
entered in the timesheet into the tasks.

Once this action is completed, your users can maintain "remaining work" if
required and then submit the task to the PM. This is generally ( on a high
level) the process that needs to occur in order to update your Project with
your timesheet data.

PS: you can also update your tasksk in "My tasks" and import this data into
your timesheet.

It all sounds a bit complicated, and to be honest I think it is, btut this
is the current out of the box functionality of Project Server 2007 timesheet
and task update.

Hope this helps

Hi Marc,
Thanks for responding. However, I know this user already imported their time
and I had a rule to automatically accept the time. When it accepted the time,
the information does not show up in the project plan. Is there any way to
retrieve this information without having this user re-import their timesheet.
I'm afraid that a lot of the timesheets from the users didn't make it into
the project.

Thanks,

Hi Barbara,

The first thing I would do is check under "My tasks" for that user if the
anticipated actual work is in the task where you expect it. I would guess no.
If not I would re-import the timesheet to see if the time can be imported.

If the time is then in the task, I would resubmit this task and hopefully
this will resolve your issue.

Let me know how you went
Thanks

Hi Marc, I have encountered the same issue and have a lot of timesheets
already submitted and approved. Is there a way run the timesheet import to
update project tasks actuals programmatically?
