project web access

We are having problems accessing PWA pages. We have installed NetZero
highspeed conncetion on some of the Client laptops. Since the installation,
the user can access PWA, however if they select any of the links except
status reports they get kicked off the system. We have uninstalled NetZero
and thye can now access the links in PWA. So it appears that NetZero
highspeed is the problem. Has anyone had this problem before? Have you solved
the problem. Some of the users utilize NetZero from home as their highspeed
provider. Any help would be appreciated.

Several years ago, we first encountered the problems with the NetZero Web
Accelerator software, and documented that it causes the very problems you
have seen. It is documented in our book for Project Server administrators.
I'm not sure of a solution to this problem except to not use the Netzero
application. If anyone else knows of a solution, I gladly invite them to
share their solutions. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale.

We have both of your books Administering and Enterprise PMO and Managing
Enterprise Projects. I am checking the Administering book now. I looked
throught it first but did't notice anything about net zero. After some
investigating on the NetZero site we narrowed it down to how the accelerator
works with the Compression, Filtering, Caching. I looked on the website How
Stuff Works and it explains it nicely. We solved it by having the user go
thru terminal server when she accesses PWA. The next step is to get them to
move to a real "High Speed" service. DSL or Cable.

Thanks again.
Also how familiar are you with the add on ProjectInitiation extender?

I should have referenced the page number for the Netzero information, which
is on page 26 of the Administrator's book. Congrats on your perserverance
on resolving the problem. Regarding the ProjectInitiation extender, I have
no direct knowledge, and would gladly invite anyone with experience using
this tool to respond to your questions. Also, thanks for buying our books!
