Project work space

Setup;
4 total servers all running Microsoft Server

main server running Small buniness server 2003:
SPS
Exchange
Active Directiry
SQL (for SPS)

Second server running standard server 2003:
File system (controls access to a raid drive system for all data)

Third server running web server 2003:
IIS 6.0
SPS (backup install - not used)
Project Server

Fourth server standard server 2003:
Backup drives & software
SQL (for Project server and other programs)

We have everthing working with SPS and Project Server except for one area of
Project. We can upload a project and have it set up to create a project work
space. (Using a wireless device ie same computer in each instance) If I am
within my local wireless network and I click on the link to go to the project
work space I can get there fine. If I am at a remote location I can get to
the project website and view the projects schedule. When I try the link to
the project work space I get a "Page not available" error.
The reason for the error is that the link for the work space is
"http://companyweb/sites/projectserver......". Within the company network
"companyweb" is a DNS record and we can resolve it. Outside at a remote
address "companyweb" is not a resolveable DNS.
I have gone under admin - Manage SPS - and see where we are to enter the URL
for the sharepoint site but I can not get the external website address to
work. We are using www.5hc.com as our external site address to access
project server.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I added "companyweb" to my host file and can now resolve the server with the
built in link. Now I get a blank screen with the following error on it
"The Web site that is referenced here is not in the configuration database."
Any ideas
