Project Workspace for Master & Subprojects

K

Keith Duncan

We are user Project Server 2007. I have a master project with several
subprojects.
I have created a Project Workspace for the master and would like all
subprojects to point to the same workspace.

This would allow the subproject users to utilize the collaboration options
and them linked into the same lists on the PWA.

When I attempt to edit the subproject site address "Server Settings ->
Project Workspaces -> Edit Site Address" I am given an error that the site
address is already in use.

Is there a way to have subprojects point to the same master PWA?
Thanks

Keith,

I don't believe this is possible. There is only one SharePoint
workspace per project allowed. I'd just make it known that the Master
Project's workspace should be used for all collaboration and document
storage. Someone may have a work around, but I don't think its easily
done if at all.

Hi Keith,
Just wondering if you might help us on master projects and sub prjs. We have
a list of sub projects and trying to make a master project with all the sub
projects in it.

For some reasons, when we are trying to save after inserting 2 or 3 sub
projects, the Project Pro is crashing. Did you ever encounter such problems?

We are using MS Project Professional 2007 SP1, Sharepoint and Project Server
(not on SP1). I dont know if Active directory has anything to do with this.

Because, when the resources (Enterprise resources) are taken off the
sub-projects, the application is not crashing.

Your suggestions would be of great help.
Thank you in advance and regards,
Hari

Perhaps you should make sure the client and the server are at the same
Service Pack level. That can cause problems like this.
