project2007 permission issue

I have a clean install of project 2007 on W2K3SP1. when installation
completed, everything looks fine. But when I assign the first new user
"readers" permission, he cannot log into the //server/pwa site. Later I find
even I assign full control permission he still cannot access //server/pwa,
but he is able to access all 'site actions' links under pwa site. I also
assign his account as top level site owner, no help.

where should i check? pls help.

After installing, have you created the SSP site and the PWA site? The
installation does not complete the configuration. The Readers
permission you mention sounds like a Sharepoint permission, but
permissions for PWA are assigned within the Server Admin section of
the PWA site.

Here are some links for installation and configuration instructions:
Start here:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Offic...67e1-4e5b-9119-62f7ff6b83861033.mspx?mfr=true

The best guide I have found for installing Project Server 2007 is
either the "Deploy Project Server 2007 to a server farm environment"
technet doc:

http://technet2.microsoft.com/Offic...7c7d-4a7f-b4ea-22822df3acb11033.mspx?mfr=true

or the blog entries by Tony Zink:
http://www.pptspaces.com/msprojectr...st=cea5da16-0c29-40a7-845e-4eea7cbc844d&ID=31

If you are installing Project Server 2007 for the first time, I would
plan on installing it at least twice to get up to speed. First follow
Tony Zink's instructions in a stand alone environment. There you won't
need to worry about security as much. Once you've got that
installation working, then install with domain service accounts and
minimal priveleges, which will probably cause a new set of challenges.
