Projects update but resource tasks assignments do not

I have a client that is able to modify a project in ms project and then save
it to PWA. In PWA I/we can see the project under the projects tab, but we
have noticed that the resources in that project can not see any of the tasks
assigned to them under the tasks tab. Not really sure why this would be
happening.
The only thing I can think of is that a couple of weeks ago we switched
active directory domains, and that maybe something was missed in this process.
I have checked the application log on the project server and have noticed
this error a lot " The manager cannot create the resource account
(0x8C040017) Spooler error ". I figured this error was do to the resources
that have left the company when the old domain name was being used, so
project would be seeing them as a local resource?
If anyone has any ideas, please don't be shy.

Thanks in advance

Each resource has a Windows Account associated with it, and this is held in
the project server database. I suspect your resources still have the old
domain associated with it. This can be seen in PWA in the format of
DOMAIN\USERNAME. Reset the Domain to the new user name, and then open
project and republish all assignmets.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Ben, all of the users in PWA have had there windows user account changed
from old_domainname\user to new_domainname\user, unless this needs to be
changed in the SQL database? I am assuming this would have been done when
the users info was changed in PWA and then saved?

Is this for new or existing projects since the migration? Did you republish
the assignments for old projects
The error you are getting suggests that the resources are not being seen as
part of the enterprise resource pool. If you view the resources on the
resource sheet, are they local or enterprise resources?
If the above doesnt' work can you check out the resoruces in the Enterprise
Resource pool and check them back in?

Ben,
This is for existing projects, and yes the project owner did a republish of
the assignments. The resources are all being seen as active according to
PWA. Another question that I have, would it matter if the project owner or
the manager of the project (two different people) tried to publish the
project?

Hello,

I suspect this has been solved since the most recent post is several
days ago. If this problem has been solved, please post the answer so
we all can learn. Thank you.

I had a similar case earlier this week. In that instance, the
resource was "proposed" on the project. Assignments for proposed
resources are not published to the timesheet. Once I changed the
resource to "committed", all task assignments showed up in the team
member's timesheet.

This has been resolved. In trying to prevent PM from seeing other projects,
I turned off some of the PM groups permissions, which caused this issue.
After putting things back to the way they were everything returned to normal.
Sorry about not getting this posted
