I am trying to extract data from a DB2 database via excel. I am having a problem getting connected to the database however. When I go to Data --> Get External Data --> New Database Query, I select the appropriate database, and then I am instantly asked to provide a password to access that database. However, the user's PC for which I am doing this never asks to provide a user name and password, and consequently the user is never able to connect. She is just given a message stating "connecting to datasource." This hangs until a CTRL-ALT-DEL is performed to kill the application. Do you have any ideas as to why this is happening?
