Proofing tool/change language in Office for Mac

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I just bought a brand new Office for MAC but do not seem to be able to change my language in word to Dutch/Nederlands. The 'change language' option does not work. When I tried to install the proofing tools using the installation cd (after I already used it once for the installation for Office) I had no option after choosing the 'Customize' button to choose anything like proofing tools. I could absolutely choose nothing. The installation of Word just started immediately for a second time, without giving me any choices to make. How can I install proofing tools for Dutch spell check/language. And is this the way to be able to make the language change possible? The suggestion found on Mactopia does not work since I've tried that (see story above)? Would you please be able to mail me at (e-mail address removed)!

We need to be careful that we are talking about the same thing.

The language of the user interface is fixed in Mac Office. The user
interface will appear only in the language you bought. If you bought
English US, the language is fixed at English US. If you were to buy Dutch,
you would need to re-install and you would then be fixed in the Dutch
language.

The language of the "Proofing tools" (Spelling, Grammar, Hyphenation) is
variable, and you need to mark the language you want to use in the text of
each document.

When you install the English version of Office, it automatically installs
proofing tools for 18 languages, one of which is Dutch. See here:

These languages are all on your system now, you do not have to do anything
to enable them.

However, when Word first starts, it sets its default to whatever language
the operating system is running in at the time. If you want it to start up
in Dutch, you need to edit the Normal.dotm template. Set the Language of
the Normal style to be Dutch, then select the default paragraph and set the
language of that to also be Dutch.

See the Help topic "Apply a language format to text in a document" for
details. Note: make sure you are looking in the Word help, not the Apple
Help!
