I installed Office XP Pro and have used it for a couple of months with no
problem. Now, when I try to open any application in Office, I get a Windows
Installer box installing Front Page. Then the installer asks me for the
installation disk for an installation disk for Office XP Professional with
Front Page.

For whatever reason, I cannot open Office apps. I don't keep the
installation disks with me (I keep forgetting them). What's going on? How
can I fix it? How do I keep this from happening again?

Hi, BKDencer,

Did you install any new software or any patches that might have changed your
system state?

Does your disk say "Office XP Professional with FrontPage"? You'll want to
try re-installing it.

You may also want to copy the CD to your hard drive and run the installation
from there, so you don't need to have the CDs handy in case they need to
grab something from teh installer.

So, I presume you know that Office XP Professional with Front Page is an
Enterprise only edition that your employer would had to have supplied to
you, right? And that you could easily have gone to your system admin at
work for assistance with an employer supplied piece of software, right?

No?? Then, I guess you could be one of the thousands who got this software
off the internet through a warez site since this is one of the most pirated
Microsoft titles out there, probably second only to Windows XP corp.zip
(which has been disabled from *ANY* updates). Congratulations on your
hubris to post to a microsoft.public news group.

I found this information while searching to *solve PROPLUS.MIS error*
PROPLUS.MSI is the installation file found on the original CD. If you
did not receive a CD and got office as an OEM install, it should be in a
folder on your hard drive.

If you have lost your CD, you should contact Microsoft for a
replacement.
