Proplus.msi problems

Larry

We are in the process of moving our real estate office and somewhere between
"here" and "there" the cd for our office professional xp with front page is
hiding. It is a rather large move and wasn't planned until another part of
the building was torched. Anyway, somehow one of our agents must have done
something to their machine. She is running windows xp with all the latest
updates and now when she wants to open any office document or outlook she
gets the message, preparing to setup frontpage and then asks for the
proplus.msi file. Is there any work around that can be done until we can
locate our cdrom? (We only have about 1000 boxes to go thru, we had 8 hours
or less to move because of safety issues)

Any help would be appreciated and if this has been asked before then I just
didn't look in the correct places or use the correct verbiage to look for.
Happens sometimes when you are old and about to retire!

Thanks, Larry

Also, thanks to the MVP's who have helped me under various AKA's over the
years, we sometimes forget to say thank you so .........Thank You

Hi,

Since the error is related to Microsoft FP, you could try un-installing the
same application from Add/Remove Programs. This should remove the errors you
receive when you open Office applications.
However, once you get hold of the Discs, you could go ahead and re-install FP.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks,

Mittu

Hi Mittu,

In the case of MS Office XP Professionl with FrontPage, Frontpage is part of that Office Proplus.msi edition setup rather than a
separate install.

Exactly and when you try to unistall FP it asks for the disks. I'm thinking
that the only recourse I have is to locate the disks, Arrrgghhh! We Have
been going thru boxes. If we EVEr have to do a move like this again, it
probably will be as disorganised as this one!

Thanks for the suggestion, the bad thing is, no-one here ever uses FP, and I
don't know why the it was set-up. It as done a couple of office managers
ago.

Thanks Y'all, Larry
