proplus.ww\proplsww.cab Missing

I am installing Microsoft Office 2007 on a Vista Business computer. I am
using Volume Licensing Software on multiple computers. I have installed this
program on four previous computers with no problems. There are fourteen
Licenses available. When I attempted an install on this last computer I
receive the message that states "proplus.ww\proplsww.cab is missing". Where
do I find this file? I've done a search on one of the other computers that
had a successful install (including the Registry), but did not turn up the
file there either. If the file is missing on those computers as well, why
did I have a successful install on those but not on the last one? Can anyone
identify this file for me and indicate where I might find it please?
Thank you for your assistance!

Regards,

Vic

Hi garfield-n-odie -

I pointed the installer at the CD and told it to look there. It didn't find
it. I have not actually opened the CD and looked for the file. I guess I'll
try that next.
Thank you for your input.

Thank you for your assistance!

It's on the Office 2007 CD.

I have the same issue and the file is on the CD located in the
ProplsWW folder. I choose that location and it still craps out.

I had this same problem. I used an install disk off another copy and used my licence from the disk I was having the error from, and it worked fine. I am assuming your disk's were in as poor condition as mine (brought new!). Not that I am complaining, its just the licence you pay for, the disks are always the same.

Hi I also get this error. I have the files copied on a CD. I can install
it on 20 computers...BUT I have one I cannot. I get the classic error
"setup cannot find ProPlus.WW\ProPlsWW.cab browse to a valid
installation source and then click OK"... I can point it to the file all
day.... no go. I have looked long and hard for an answer. The best one
is to re-format the drive and start again.

I ran into this error yesterday trying to install on one machine (XP SP3,
Office 2000 upgrade). Tried about 6 times with the same error '"invalid
location" when trying to copy proplsww.cab

Finally when it asked to point to Prolus.ww I opened explorer to copy the
ProPlusWW folder to the desktop. Got a CRC error and could not copy the file.

Assumed a bad CD so back to the office to burn a new one. Once there I
tried on my machine to copy the ProPlusWW folder off the CD and it copied
fine, so much for the bad CD theory.

Guess I have to go back to the users machine and try the copy without the
installer running?

Can anyone make any sense of this?

A CRC error usually means a bad sector on the hard drive. Try running ckdsk
/r to see if it repairs the bad sector.

I think a CRC error at the destination would be resolved by writing to the
next available block. Will run a ckdsk just to be sure.

I couldn't get it working. I tried Crap Cleaner and some more stuff. I
may have been how the first Office was installed originally? The C
works on lots of PC's, including my own. So I have a volume license cop
of Office 2007 Pro and not finding the ProPluscab file is a large issue
I see other posts around the Internet. None have found the root cause o
this that I can see, including the MS Support site

I had this same problem (could not install 2007) and it turned out to b
a RAM memory issue. After two days of trying everything in the book
pulled one of the memory modules and it installed flawlessly

Hi friends,
I resolved the problem with the missing proplsww.cab by installin
office 2007 from a disc image on the hard disk. Just copy th
instalation disc onto ISO image on your hard disk and mount the image t
a virtual drive (I used daemon tools). After that start the instalatio
from the virtual drive and everything must go smoothly (at least i
worked nice for me on windows xp sp3). Wish you good luck
