Pros and Cons of Automation add-in in C++ for Excel

Hi,
I am looking to create an add-in for excel (latest versions) and
right now I am in the process of finding suitable technology for this
add in. Therefore it would be great if any one please tell me about
pros and cons of developing automation add-in in C++ over traditional
XLL approach?
