Protect PPT 2000 file so changes cannot be made

Does anyone know how to protect a Powerpoint 2000 document
i.e., can be opened but changes cannot be made?

PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 allow you to assign a password to protect your
presentation. However, for PowerPoint 2000 you'll have to use another
