Protect rows from deletion only

Hi,
Is there a way to protect a row from deletion, but still allow data entry? I
know I can not display the headings under option, but the row can still be
deleted.
I have long lists stored in hidden columns and if the user deletes the row
to delete data, it removes data from the list. I can move all the lists to a
separate worksheet, but I looking for an easy way out.
Thanks,
Jim

If you have Excel 2002, or later version, you can choose to allow users
to Delete rows.

If you have an earlier version, it would be easier to move the lists to
a separate sheet. You can hide that sheet, and the lists won't be deleted.

I, too, would move those lists to another sheet--I think it makes things much
easier in the long run.

But if you unlock all the cells, and protect the worksheet, won't that do it for
you.

(well, make sure you lock the cells that contain the lists.)

But there are a lot of things you won't be able to do with a protected
worksheet.

Hi all,
Thanks for the advice. Looks like majority rules to move the lists. I'll do
it. I was hoping to avoid it but ...
