Protecting documents from copying and sharing

Does anyone know of a way to prevent word docs being copied and shared?

I guess what I'm looking for is a way to make a document available only to
authorized users -- through a licensing key or whatever.

Once a user has a file they can do allmost what they want with it; which is
what happens in most Gov.leaks

OK, granted, then does anyone know of a way to make it inconvenient/difficult
for someone to copy or share a Word 2002 file?

Bear in mind that *any* electronic file can be shared or copied if
someone
really wants to.

There are free and not encryption programs available. Do a Ask.com search
for: encryption programs. If you convert the Word file to *.pdf, Acrobat
8.1.1 has some security features that you can invoke that may fill some of
your needs.

Only way that can work is to NOT allow them access to it. If you give
someone access to the file, they can share it with anyone they see fit
to share it with. You CAN'T make it inconvienient/difficult if you give
them access to the file.
