Provide indication that the file has been changed and not saved

It would be helpful if there was some indication that the open file in Excel,
Word or PowerPoint has been changed since it was last updated. Frontpage and
Visual Studio put a star by the filename if it has been updated. A flag in
the status bar might be appropriate. If a user is leaving their desk, they
can easily tell if the open file needs to be saved. It also informs the use
that a file has been changed when they may not wish to save the changes.

Ahem, the Undo indicator provides this feature.

Ho-hum! No it doesn't.
You can still undo changes after saving a document.

Incidently, Open Office provides this feature: The save icon on the
toolbar is greyed out (inactive) when the document is unchanged since
last save/open.

.... and the move from top to bottom post was by me. No offense intended,
I just couldn't help myself.
