Proving product is pirated

Parrolet

I was sent a request from Paypal requesting documentation regarding that the
software I had purchased is pirated. How can I go about doing this? Best Buy
and Office Depot refuses to give ANY kind of documentation at all because it
is their company policy to not get involved (I have tried already). There is
not a local CompUSA near by. What can I do?

THIS IS THEIR REQUEST:
In order to continue with the investigation of your complaint, we must
request documentation to support your claim that the item is not authentic.
Please obtain a document from an unbiased, third-party, such as a dealer,
appraiser, or another individual or organization that is qualified in the
area of the item in question (other than yourself), which clearly
identifies the item as not authentic. If possible, the document should
include a serial number and description of the item, and must be on
letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the
individual, business, or organization so that PayPal may contact them if
necessary.

I would take this up with them as it is 1) off topic here and 2) it is not a problem to be solved by strangers.

If you purchased the software you have to have a receipt. If you don't have
the receipt then you can check your credit card statements for the purchase.
If you don't have your credit card statements then you can contact your
credit card company for a copy of several past statements until you find it.

But I agree with Milly Staples...it's not an appropriate post for this site,
as it's not a technical problem. Your problem is proving that you purchased
the software and NOBODY here can help you with that.

It was not a question of if I bought it. It was a question of it being a
legal product of Microsoft and did anyone have any ideas of where to go to
find someone or to send it to that would document that it was not a legal
copy that Microsoft had actually issued.

Anyhow I have solved this case by taking it to the police dept. that is now
investigating it and the company it came from for selling illegal Microsoft
Office Professional 2003 copies.

Thanks anyhow.
