PS 2007 Rejected Tasks

M

Mike

User assigns himself to an existing task, submits to plan owner who
rejects the assignment. On my tasks page user sees rejected task.
What should he do next? He can delete it, however it returns as soon
as he refreshes the page. Republishing the plan does not get rid of
the entry.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

I would have a dialogue with the PM and user, ie ask them to talk to each
other to resolve the issue. Either the PM wants the user to do the task
(they are assigned after all), or they don't. Assuming they do, then they
probably rejected the task due to the time associated with it. Against that
you have to balance the fact that the resource has spent time on it and
probably needs to book it somewhere.

Talking resolves these issues, not EPM.

Hi Ben

All for talking but would still like to know how to remove the task.

Remove the resource from the task. If they have time booked, set the
remaining work to zero. Republish the assignment.

Hi Ben

There is no resource on the task in the plan. There is no time
booked. Republishing the plan has no effect. The assignment was
rejected by the plan owner. It is displayed only on the individual's
My Task page with an Update Rejected icon. so I would like to get it
removed. The delete function removes it temporarily until the screen
is refreshed then it returns.

Hmm, not sure then if there are not assignments. It could be corruption in
the DB.
