PS 2007 SP2 Special Characters

Is there a list of Special characters that are not acceptable when nameing
Tasks, Resource Names, and Project Names. Where would I locate a recommended
naming convention for Project Server?

We are currently using Project Server 2007 w/SP2 installed Apr CU patch
level. We are seeing projects that are taking very long to process in the
queue, actuals not being applied to the plan that are approved in the
Timesheets, and not able to round trip a project by using SAve As to XML. The
XML will not open error message at the bottom of the file when opened with
explorer is: XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and
then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Greetings!

As a general rule of thumb, I usually recommend avoiding the use of
any "special" character in Project Server, which basically includes
any character other than letters, numbers, spaces, and underscores.
Examples include: / \ [ ] { } - + = , . : ; ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) ~ ' "

Good luck!

I avoid ANY special characters. That means everything except A-Z and 0-9,
space and underscore.
