PS 2007 Task updates doing nothing

E

Eddie

I have one project where my task updates seem to be ignored. It goes
through the motions, but nothing happens. in another project they are
find. Only thing i may have done recently is change the standard
calender to match our working week. but a test project seems to work
just fine.

2007 is frustrating the f**k out of me :)

Hi Eddie,

sad to hear that you are so frustrated. The first part I would check is if
when you updated your timesheet, that you actually used a task and not a
project line. If you have used a project line and not a task line, the task
update will not work, simply because Project Server doesnt know which task to
update.

It suggests to me that this is the case, especially because the other
project timehseet imports seem to work

Let me know how you go.

When you accept updates in PWA do you click "View" button to see how actuals
put into schedule. Does this view work correctly ?

Actually it doesn't show up when i preview the updates to the
schedule. Updates to the test project do.

The problem within the project. I called this "broken" project. I do not
exactly know what is going on but
1) if your project manager try to save project in 2003-fromat local file
2) open local file, save and publish one with the same name on server

Hopefully :), project manager will be able to update project actuals and see
project preview correctlly.
Ussually it helps, sometimes no. But it is all I can help you with...
