I have a training manual for PS07 web access, but wondering if there's a book
that I could buy that is specific to implementing the tool company wide that
contains many of the unaswered questions? Or might you recommend the Project
Office "Deployment Boot Camp Training? I am really struggling ~ any
suggestions?

You might want to purchase both of our books on Microsoft Project Server
2007 at the following URL:

http://www.projectserverbooks.com

Our company also offers open enrollment classes for project managers on how
to properly use the software from the project manager's perspective, and for
Project Server administrators on how to set up and configure the software.
You can enroll in our classes at:

http://projectservertraining.com/learning/schedule.aspx

Hope this helps.

I just want to make a strong recommendation for Gary and Dale's Book
'Implementing and Administering MS Project Server 2007'. It really shows you
everything you need to know to set up the server in an easy and
understandable way.

On the negative side the only thing I can say is that I don't understand why
the book is printed with such a huge font and on really thick paper. As it's
not a book you will use on a daily base until you get retired there is simply
no need for it to be so solid, unless to impress your coworkers ;-) And it
makes shipping unnecessarily expensive, at least for us down here in Brazil.
(Gary, Dale: take this as a suggestion for future releases)

But anyway, strong recommendation. Don't even think in implementing EPM
without it.

The book is designed for suboptimal reading positions, as is the case when
you have the book off to the side while working on your computer, therefore
the 11pt font. The thicker paper prevents the numerous screen shots from
bleeding through the page. Some people thank us for this, others curse it.
We are looking at a redesign for P14, and we're considering Portuguese
language versions, just for you folks in Brazil. Thanks for the strong
recommendation.

Thanks for your kind recommendation. :) The reason we publish the book
with a larger font and thicker pages is because we use it as a course book
as well as a reference book. If it were a reference book only, the type
would be smaller, the screenshots would be smaller, and the paper would be
thinner. But thanks for the suggestion about future books.

Gary,

I'm not quite sure if there is really a need for a portuguese version. My
impression is that we are only a handfull of people down here dealing with
PS, and probably all of them understand English quite well. But anyway, a
port. version would be a good excuse to visit our beautiful country... if you
need one.

Ueli:

Your country is one of my favorite destinations and I would love an excuse
to visit more than once a year! We were thinking that the team members book
would be an important offering in multiple languages as I agree that most
PMs and Admin types probably do speak English well enough, but many of the
folks below this level do not.
