PS2003. Undefine Ent. Custom Codes.

Is there a preferred or 'graceful' way to undefine or remove an enterprise
custom code that we've found is not longer needed?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,
If you can, I would mark it as not required and then remove it from the
views etc, so that it is not used.

If it really needs deleting, then you should do the following.
1. Mark it as not mandatory
2. Edit each project/resource/task so that it is blank
3. Remove all the values from the field within the EGT
4. Rename the Enterprise field back to its original name.

Hmmm. Labor intensive! I probably should do it though.

Thanks, Ben.

One more thing, if that list wasn't enough -- while you have the EGT
checked out, go into tools>organizer and click on the fields tab (if
not others). Make sure that references to the fields are deleted from
there as well.

Mark:

All this takes is:

1) Open the Enterprise Global
2) Open the Organizer
3) Delete the field from the Enterprise Global in the organizer
4) Save and close the E global
5) Exit out of Project and Restart.

The field and all of its values in the database should be gone.

But this doesn't work, because once you migrate to Project Server 2007, all
of the deleted outline codes come back and can be seen in the Project
Information section, although they have no lookup table and any value you
type in does not save....is there some way to REALLY delete these codes?
