PS2007 - Task Assignment details page

Hi -
We have a strange occurance for 1 project -- tasks are Fixed Work - effort
driven
Project is set for Hours of work done per period - this is the default we
have set on the server PLs aren't allow to pick anything else.

Why is the calendar not showing up on the assignment details page??

We are on SP1 -- we haven't yet installed the infrastructure patch since we
have a case open with MS since it came out to get it installed on our dev
environment. We are just working through the escalation chain .....

Is there any other setting that we are missing?

I'm trying to understand your problem. Are you saying that the timesheet
grid is not appearing on the My Tasks page of any user in PWA? If so, the
timesheet grid does not automatically appear. The Project Server
administrator has to modify the My Tasks web part to show the timesheet
grid, using the steps in the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/AddTimesheetGridToMyTasks.aspx

If this is not your problem, please give us a little more explanation and we
will try to help. Thanks!

Hi Dale -

The calendar part of the task assignment does not appear for this project
only.
When the user clicks on the task from his My Tasks to bring up the
assingment detail page - all we see if start / finish / % complete /
remaining work.
Normally we have a calendar grid that appears between the progress & the
start /finish dates.

All other projects and tasks work as designed.

We are tracking actual work per period.

Is this clearer? If I could post a screen shot - I would.

The only reason I can think of that would cause this situation is if the PM
has changed the method of tracking for that particular project. Have you
actually locked down the default method of tracking for all projects? If
not, a PM could change the method of tracking progress in any project by
opening the project, clicking Tools - Options - Collaborate. On the
Collaborate page, he/she can select an alternate method of tracking. Why
don't you open the project in question and click Tools - Options -
Collaborate and see if the PM has changed the method of tracking progress
for this project. If he/she has done this, select the "Use the default
method set on Project Server" option and click OK, then save and republish
the project. Then ask your Project Server administrator to lock down the
default method of tracking progress in Project Server. Let us know what you
find and we will try to help.

We have the setting locked on the server to only allow work per period to
ever be used. In fact - most people don't even know about how they could do
anything different.

I got the Project Lead to enter a new project - it works fine. once the team
members re-enter their time - I will delete the other project.
Quite odd - doesn't help when I can't explain why to the organization -
other then - there are some flaky things sometimes

Thanks for the help

You are more than welcome for the help, my friend! Sorry I could not be of
more help, however.
