[PS2007] Task Name Drop Down

C

CQ

Is there any way to make the task name a drop down field selecting from a
preset list rather than free form text?

N

NZ Projects

I've not tried this and mostly thinking out aloud, but it sounds plausable.

Create a CF with a list of tasks.
Hide the task name column in Pro and add the CF column

Create a Macro which changes the task name to that of the CF.

It shouldn't take more than 10 mins to knock up a test, so not much time
wasted if I'm completely wrong.

Just out of curiosity, did you ever find time to try this and, if so, what
were the results?

John:

We do something similar for clients who won't or can't understand Project
Server's labels. For instance, when the word "baseline" is not in a
company's vernacular and you need to present the data under a heading that
they can relate to. NZ Project's recommendation is spot-on and will work.

Sounds like we have the same clients! That's exactly why this caught my
interest.

I'll give it a whirl. Thanks Gary.
