Hi everyone
I've installed a PServer2003 at a customer, which caused much trouble. First
of all the installation (no WSS, OLAP) wouldn't complete, it just gave a
"installation ended prematurely". The solution was to grant NT
AUTHORITY\Local Service Administrative rights on the server - otherwise the
PServer services couldn't be startet - and the installation couldn't
complete.
So far, so good. After this, the server worked just fine, but 2 weeks later
it was restarted because of windows security updates. Since that restart,
the PServer isn't working anymore.
When trying to log on to PWA (or through Project) I get the following error:
Project was unable to log you on at this time because the Project Server
database cannot be accessed. Please try again later or check with your
Project Server administrator. (5001)
I thought it was a connection problem to the database server (which runs on
another machine), but the MSProjectServerUser connects without problems.
As you can read of the third error below, I suspect the problem is user
rights, since the Local Service had to be added to the administrators group.
But the error messages doesn't tell me anything.
Does anyone have the slightest idea of what to do in this situation?
