I am importing old inbox and contacts pst file from old computer and when I
copied it over and then tried to import I got a dialog box that said I did
not have access to pst file I brought over from old machine. I have looked at
the "how to" and believe I did it correctly. what password or access would I
need, i am the admin for both.

Did you bring it across via CD, if so you need to remove the Read Only
attribute in the Properties of the pst file.

Just a note I got to work, not sure how. I was asked for a password, and I
used several, but found the right one I guess, It then ask for it again.
After which my info from pst file was imported. Wierd but got er done.

Never export to or import from a PST. Totally unnecessary and fraught with
trouble. Instead, use File>Open>Outlook Data File.

Did you remove the read-only attribute from the PST?
