PST File is 18 meg but empty when opened...

We copied our pst file to a CD and to a seperate hard drive years ago. Now
when I try to access it, I can open it fine but there are no messages. The
file is 18+ Meg, which to means the file has information in it. I then used
the "SCANPST.EXE" file as the troubleshooting guide described and it didn't
find any problems. I then tried to import the information from my 18meg
pst... only the folders showed up...no messages. I am running Outlook 2002.
please help...

I really need to get the PST back. My brother in-law died and my wife had
several photos of him in the PST... it has realy affected my wife. she is
affraid that she has lost many photos of here brother who has passed on.

thank you.

Remove the .pst file from the CD to your hard drive. Remove the Read-only attribute from its properties, then open it, NOT import it, in Outlook using File->Open->Personal Folders File (or OUtlook Data File, depending on the version, which you neglected to mention.)

Sorry - questions asked in public are answered in public.

If you have the .pst in your Outlook profile, right click on it and select
Properties, then Folder Size. You should be able to see if and where your
information is stored.
