I have a .pst file in Outlook that I move my e-mails to
for safe keeping. I have accessed this file in Outlook
for months. Now I cannot access it. I a message that
the file "is in use and could not be accessed. Close any
application that is using the file, and then try again."

The file is not in use by anyone. Does anyone hav a
solution to this problem. Your help will be greatly
appreciated.

Not true. Most likely it is open in another instance of Outlook. Examine
your Task Manager process list. See if OUTLOOK.EXE appears there.

.
Thanks Brian. I checked the Task Manager process list.
OUTLOOK.EXE only appears when Outlook is running; and it
only appears once. When I close Outlook it doens't
appear in the Task Manager process list.

Well, I'm out of ideas, then, because there must be something keeping it
open or Windows wouldn't see the lock.
