pst files

I have a PST file located on a networked drive. When I first open outlook, I
can access the PST file. After a while, (I have not worked out how long yet)
I can no longer access the PST file. Closing outlook and re-opening it
allows me to access the file again!

Any ideas?

PSTs on network drives are unsupported and can lead to problems.
