pst files

Hi,

My old computer died on me last week - I now have a new computer and would
like to access all of my contacts and e mails that were on the old one.

I have removed the hard drive and have it connected to my new computer by USB.

I've found the pst file on the old computer but don't know how to 'open' it
or where to put it in the new computer.

Can anyone help?

Put it anywhere you want. Most people put it with the rest of their data. Do
not try to put it in Outlook's default location because you will most likely
overwrite another data file.
Opening it requires you to follow these directions:
File > Open > Outlook Data File...
