PSvr2002 : PWA : Tasks : Task Notes question

Treb Gatte

To all,

I've got a PM who is attempting to use the task notes as a
collaboration tool.

He has entered notes that he wants all assignees to read.
Then as each resource enters notes, he wants the notes to
be available to all other assigned resources after he
republishes.

The assigned resource can't see the notes the PM entered
or any other notes other than their own through the PWA
Task Sheet.

Any ideas as to how to do this?

Thanks!

Take a look at Issues or Documents in Windows Sharepoint Server (if you're
running version 2003) - or Sharepoint Team Services (if you're on 2002)
Much easier, I'd imagine - or is there a reason not to use this tool?

Treb:

The notes attached to tasks through the timesheet, are tacked on at the
assignment level. So your query is somewhat of a mixed metaphor. Assignment
notes are visible to the manager who owns the assignment and by the
resource on the assignment. You can view these in the View Resource
Assignments view in the Resource Center and in the View My Tasks and Updates
pages. If both parties are entering the notes through Updates or Tasks. As
Lars points out, SharePoint is there to handle team-level communications.
