Pub 97, 'save as' to network error

J

JP

using W2000 SP4/office 97/publisher 97. With a open file
in publisher user does a 'save as' and receives a 'cannot
create a temporary working file' message a couple times
and file does not save as the new file name. User has full
permissions to network folder. Does not seem to be a
problem saving to C: drive.

I swapped network card, patch cables, different port on
10/100 hub, reinstalled pub97. Web search on error found
only a reference to lost network connection.

solution?

Have you tried saving it to the hard disk and then copy or move it to the
network? Publisher doesn't always like working on a network.

yes, there does not seem to be a problem working from the
C: drive as this was a workaround previously.

I know the workaround may seem like a PITA but it's really not *that* bad.

What happens if you give them Admin powers?
