Pub07 - How to make bookmarks keep position with text?

In Pub07, is there a way to make bookmarks maintain relative position in
relation to text? I have eg 12 paragraphs and I've created 12 bookmarks
positioned before each paragraph. If I add text, the paragraphs of course
re-position, but the bookmarks don't and I have to re-adjust the bookmark
positions individually.

Is there any way to make the bookmarks move automatically so as to maintain
intended position for the paragraphs to which they relate?

a couple of things come to mind to try -

select the bookmark and grab a corner of it and resize it to be the same
size as the paragraph or paragraph header that it's supposed to be linked to.

group the bookmark with the textbox - select one and hold ctl key select the
other and click the group icon that appears.

Thanks for the reply David. That does work, although and purely a function
of the way I asked my question as an example, it sounded as if I have let's
say 12 discrete text boxes, each with a bookmark. In that setup, indeed
grouping each bookmark with the relevant text box works, although as you were
to add text to one box, you would still have to adjust its size and therefore
the relative positioning of each of the other boxes. There still doesn't
seem to be a way to have the relative positioning of each text box adjust
automatically.

In my specific setup, it's the same, but with a twist. I'm running an
intranet with reference information which consists of text under various
headings. There is quite a lot of text and I have set it up on 1253x4608px
pages, with two columns of text on each page, with paragraphs of varying
length of text under 40+ headings. I update/add text regularly, which can
mean making a change in any one or more of the paragraphs at a time. Because
of the length, and it's so much easier, the text boxes overflow from one to
the other. That way, when I add text, it doesn't matter where I add it, the
overflow takes care of it and the paragraphs and their headings re-adjust
position automatically. The problem is maintaining the positions of the
bookmarks which I want located near the paragraph headings, i.e. bookmark A
with para heading A, etc. Grouping bookmarks to the text boxes won't help
me, 'cause they won't direct to the specific para heading in the text. And
chopping everthing up into individual subject/heading text boxes won't help,
because then I'll still have to re-adjust constantly the size and position of
each of 40+ text boxes.

So if you have any further ideas, I'd appreciate.

Tks/Bert

I don't know that you are going to find a way to do exactly what you want,
so would it be helpful to breakup your site and build it with 40+ Publisher
files? In other words, use one Pub file for each subject/heading so that if
you add content to any particular subject, you would need to adjust only the
bookmarks on that particular page, and upload that revised page. The other
pages would remain the same. It doesn't exactly solve your problem, but it
would at least make it easier to manage as you ad content.

One way to do this is to organize your directory using subfolders for each
subject/heading and then publish to that folder. Here is another way of
using multiple Publisher files to build a web that David wrote some years
ago, that will explain the concept:
