Public Calendar missing events in Entourage, which appear in Outlook

Hello Friends,

I am having an issue were select events in my company's Public Folder
calendar are not appear in Entourage (on Mac), but do appear in Outlook (on
PC). I do see the majority of events in both applications.

I tried "Synchronize," "unsubscribing/resubscribing," and the the "Empty
Cache" tricks on the Public calendar in question. Those didn't seem to work.

The only thing I can think of is the events in question seem to be the ones
added via Public Folder calendar's email gateway (auto-accepted by the
calendar). I (and others) use this to add events to the Public Folder
calendar from iCal on the Mac or iPhone (or other clients).

Thanks for any suggestions.

No one had any ideas on how I might fix my issue?

I am running Entourage 2008 and my work's server is Exchange 2007.

Thanks for any input you can provide!

It’s not something I ever do myself, so it’s a but hard to have a
definitive idea about the problem, but it sounds like there is
something wrong with these auto-generated events.
It could be that the gateway is not creating them with the proper
permissions or structure.
That might be something worth checking.
Any idea whether the server is perfectly up to date??

OK, so what's the difference between Outlook and Entourage? Outlook
connects via MAPI and Entourage connects via WebDAV. This may be a
protocol issue. (Or are you using the Web Services Edition of Entourage?
You haven't said...)

You can test by connecting to your account using Outlook Web Access
(OWA) and checking for the events in there. OWA uses WebDAV too.
Theoretically, if you can see them in OWA then you should be able to see
them in Entourage. Be sure that you use the same address in your web
browser that you're using in Entourage to test effectively.

Hope this helps!

I'm using Entourage 2008 (not Web Services). I tried to hit the exact
address I have in my Entourage account settings (ex. mail.example.com) via
webbrowser and it returned a 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied error.

If I log into my OWA account (ex. https://mail.example.com/owa) I can view
all my mail and personal calendar. But I have never been able to see any of
my companies public folders (or calendars) there. Maybe my admins have a
setting they need to enable?

But I can view most Public Folders/calendar events in Entourage currently,
just not these select ones.

Should I try to use Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition instead? To be
honest, prior to your reply to me, I did not even know such a thing existed
(that there was multiple version of Entourage). I know my company has
Exchange 2007 and I could check to make sure we meet the other requirements
to use the Web Services Edition.

Thanks for your help.

This indicates the problem is server-side and not client-side.

Very possibly, but I wouldn't know what to have you look for on the
server. Someone from the microsoft.public.exchange.admin newsgroup could
possibly determine what's happening.

If you're using Exchange Server 2007, then YES, try the Web Services
Edition of Entourage. Keep in mind that if you install it and it doesn't
work then you'll need to un-install Office, install Office again and
apply all updates to get back to your current version. If you can test
on a different machine, that would be preferable. But definitely worth
testing.

Hi,

We're running Exchange 2007 SP1 and Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition and we're also experiencing similar issues.

First, subscribing to shared calendars and contacts in Public Folder appear in Entourage 2008 WSE but events and contacts do not. Manual synchronize shows status of 31 items in calendars and 18 contacts but they do not appear.

Second, we tried adding an event or contact and encountered this error: "Permission Error. Changes to the event "Test" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission."

Third, we tried using OWA with IE8 and notice similar issues but in Outlook 2007, it works fine with the same user account.

Appreciate the help,

TR
