Public Folders and Favorites Bar

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange There was a previous question re the faorites bar not remmbering public folders to which the answer was if you subscribe to them then you can put them on the favorites bar. If you subscribe to them then you get the folders cached locally in your database whcih means, in my case, you database zooms up to around 17Gb which is unmanageable. Well it maneas I have to maintain around 20Gb spare as well in case I ever need to rebuild the database, let alone the time that takes.
In Outlook you can have public folders as favorites to view and dump stuff in when you are connected to the network without a local cache - isn't there a way of doing this in Entourage?
We have many many project public folders and I don't want to wade through offices, then projects, then project numbers every time to get to the four or five folders I need to drop email into.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Entourage is not made to work like Outlook. If you're public folder
subscriptions are too unwieldy then you need to either subscribe to a
lower level folder with fewer items or break up the folder into more
sub-folders with fewer items.

Hope this helps!

William, thank for the response. I understand that Entourage is not Outlook. As the only Mac user in a windows environment I do not think I can persuade the other project teams to use more sub folders to limit the sizes of the archives - it works perfectly for them as Outlook doesn't cache locally. Very weird the differences between these two programs bearing in mind the same originators. Ah well, it can't do it seems to be the answer.
