Public Folders not appearing with Entourage for Web Services

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I installed Entourage 2008 for Web Services for one of our staff last week and was surprised to see that Public Folders were no longer showing up. We had been accessing Public Folders via Entourage 2008 with no problems (aside from the typical slow synchronization). The field for configuring a path to Public Folders no longer appears under the Advanced configuration tab in the account set up.

I have spoken to other users and they are having the same experience, whether they upgrade or do a fresh install.

Any idea what's going on? Are we missing a configuration option? Are there firewall rules that need opening? According to the Exchange admin, the server is fully patched.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm Alex, and I work on the Entourage team.

The big change with EWS is the removal of the specific Public Folder account setting. The settings that autodiscover picks up for your Exchange account for mail sync should "just work" for the Public Folder store.

Obviously, this is not the case for you. Can you e-mail me ([email protected]) so I can look at this in more detail?

Thanks,
- Alex

Are your public folders still on Exchange Server 2003? These will not be
visible in Entourage EWS because it does not support WebDAV. You will
need to migrate your public folders as well.

Hope this helps!
