Publish Access 2007-2010 pivot table to the web?

Does anyone know if there is a way to publish an Access 2007 or Access
2010 pivot table so that it may be run in a browser? Without the browser
pc/user having a copy of retail or other MS Access installed? Not a
static copy either...a dynamic, re-orderable cube?

BTW its still the old OWC pivot as far as I can tell...but no one really
referes to OWC any more, right? Has anything changed about the pivot
table features of access since A2003?

Hi,

Just as a guess 'cause I haven't tried it with other than a regular table
but you can try publishing it to a SharePoint server and it will be available
through the Internet by using your browser.

Just my 2 cents...

I wondered about that...but I don't think sharepoint is an option
anyways. It'd still be interesting to hear if that is doable, or not.

I am hoping there is some way to get the pivot table into a browser
without sharepoint on the server or access on the client side.

Given that the huge push from the Access Dev. Team at Microsoft seems to be
using $harePoint, I think you are out of luck if you wish to keep your data
in Access. On the other hand, if you use SQL Server (or periodically push
data from your Access application to SQL Server), I think you might be able
to achieve what you want by using SQL Server Reporting Services.

Have you built a cube of some kind (SQL Server analysis services) regular or
local cube? If so there are a variety of tools to do reporting off cubes
(sql server reporting services would be a high end tool).

I more used to the regular cube end of things (where you actually have a
server running sql server analysis services). A lot of the companies that
make third party components have a web olap viewer of sort sort.
Not sure if these things work off local cubes.

Everything till now has been in Access 2003. Deploy scenario has been
desktop oriented till now. But I will look into SSAS, it's probably more
realistic than sharepoint.

Thank you for responding.

I wish sharepoint would leave Access alone...it's been a total drain on
a great tool, in my opinion. I will look into reporting services and see
if that will get me where I need to go. Thanks.

Send me an email if you need any help. I've used a few products that work
off Analysis services cubes and essbase cubes. Proclarity, some components,
some reporting tools.
