hi there.
I have just (for the first time) set up a web hosting account, and
installed frontpage extensions.
I am just trying to know whether or not it (frontpage) is working --
i'm not going to be doing the "real" authoring, just a test.
anyway, when i publish I get an error something to the effect of
"invalid web extension...contact the webmaster" yikes, i guess that's
me :-(
Could this problem be because i am using an old (prehistoric)
Frontpage, 97? (the help/about says version 2.something)-- my web
host's help says something about fp 98 being supported... should all
Frontpages be able to publish? I sort of imagine that it should be
backwards comaptible.
I also see the following in my error log, does that indicate something
in particular that need to be corrected?:
Permission denied: /home/domenics/public_html/_private/.htaccess
pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable
Thanks!
p.s.: the web host uses FreeBSD, and the Ready-to-Run frontpage
extensions for Unix ( http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/index.asp )
in case that helps.
