Publish New and Changed Assignments Icon

Using Project Server 2003 with MSP Professional 2003.
We have a handful of projects where the "Information for this task has
changed. Select Publish New and Changed Assignments to update the
resources." icon on the Task Sheet won't go away no matter how many
times the project is published using the different publishing
options. The information is not being updated in PWA Task page;
however, if I choose Republish Assignments - Overwrite actual work
entered by resources, PWA is updated but the icon still appears.
MSP's Tools - Options - Collaborate, is Any task information changes &
New and Changed Assignments. Multiple PMs have the same problem. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
Kathy

Kathy,

Looks like there is some issue while publish the plan or Assignments>
Try to publish the project plans one by one by View Populator tool & check
the event log error on your webserver.mail me of you need more information

Thanks Amit, I tried the Populator Tool but the publishing envelopes
are still visible. There are no error messages in the log.

I have determined that the tasks with the envelopes are those with ex-
employees assigned. It may be possible that I am not correctly
handling how to disable ex-employees. I am reluctant to delete the
resources until I can confirm that their hours will continue to appear
in Portfolio Analyzer. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?
