Publish to web question on files created

I created a website in Publisher and I noticed that when I publish to web all
of the images create multiple files (.jpg & .png)..ie...for pictures &
buttons I created in photoshop (saved as .jpg)...is that suppose to happen?

Yes. The web files select and place the images in the locations preserved
within the files when the site is accessed.

Publisher does make copies of the inserted images. To minimize the number
and the format of images be sure to compress the images before you produce
your web files.
