Only enterprise projects (stored in the Project Server database) are
displayed in the Open from Microsoft Project Server dialog box. When you
save a project locally, it is by definition a nonenterprise project.
Apparently your Project Server administrator has set permissions to allow
nonenterprise projects to be published to PWA, which is why you were able to
publish the project. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale
thanks for the repl
Few quetions about it
1)is there a way to convert a locally saved project in to entrpris
project
i am asking this becuase we are moving to project server recently but our manager
have been using MS project for quite some time
so all our project are saved locally at this time.so we need a way to move them to
project server

2)is this correct that a publish non-entrprise project is differnt then
a enterprise project in a way that it can use non-entrprise resources
but a entrprise project can only use entrprise resource

3)lets say i keep my non-entrprise project published to project server
i make sure that i DO NOT use any non-entrpeise feature like non-enterprise
users etc
now compare this with me creating new enterprise project for each local project which we have created in past

what the pros and cons of each

thank

1. If you are moving to Project Server, then you will need to import your
nonenterprise projects into the Project Server database. You and your PM's
will need to import the projects rather than opening them and clicking
File - Save As. To import a project, click Tools - Enterprise Options -
Import Project to Enterprise. Pay very close attention to the page in the
wizard that deals with resources. Make sure that you match up the resources
in the project with your enterprise resources in the Enterprise Resource
Pool.

2. An enterprise project can include both enterprise resources (found in
the Enterprise Resource Pool) and local resources (found only in the project
plan).

3. I recommend that you delete the nonenterprise projects that were
published, and import them into the Project Server database, and then
publish them again.

Hope this helps.
