Hello,

We are running MS Project Server 2003. Is their a way to have the
project file not say ".published" after placing on the server?

We are running MS Project Server 2003. First, is the " . " an illegal character? It is not A-Z or 1-9. We are concerned that the summary task with the ".published" could be causing errors in our OLAP cube. Is their a way to have the project file not say ".published" after publishing to the server?

Hi DC, something else is causing the errors in the OLAP cube. "." is not
an illegal character, neither is "_" . Is the OLAP cube building
successfully?

Hello Ben,

The cube is building successfully sometimes. For instance, we have it
automated to run every morning at 5 AM and we got this message:
The cube scheduled to be built on 6/19/2007 at 5:02 AM failed.
(-2147221384) Processing error [Source data contains no rows]
'Time'S'

However, I did a successful manual build after that. For further
clarification, do characters in the tasks affect the OLAP or only the
project file name?

Hi, I've seen that type of error number before, but never had to find a
resolution for it on a production server. Given that it builds manually
means that there is not an issue with illegal characters. Tasks are not
taken into the cube, so the names will have no effect on the build process.

I would check the event viewer, and try to limit the resource and project
date ranges until you're able to find what breaks it.
