Publisher 2000's colour schemes are all black!

Kevin Woodman

My client is using Microsoft Publisher 2000. All of the
colours are black.

From the Format->Color Scheme... menu item, all of the
listed achemes are black. On the "Custom" tab, all of
the colours are black. If I select a colour and try to
customize it, all of the basic colours are black. If I
want to see all colours, I can see a very colourful grid
but the preview is always black. I can manually set the
RGB values, but they always appear as black.

All available Office Updates have been applied.
Repairing does not solve the problem, nor does the
repair/reinstall feature.

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have your screen set to high contrast in the Accessibility options?

Look for an updated video driver on the manufacturer's web site.

What version Windows? Press F9 twice, this works if you have your display set to high
contrast on Windows NT

My client is using Windows XP (I don't know which version
right now). I'll ask her to give the F9-twice solution a
try, and post a follow-up message to let everyone know
what happened.

Thanks!

We tried the F9-twice solution, but it had no effect. We
also confirmed that high-contrast was switched off. I'll
look into newer display drivers the next time I'm over there.

In the meantime, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Kevin,
This may not have anything to do with your problem, but I
had a similar problem and it turned out it was the
printer that was associated with my document. My
commercial print company uses a Xerox DocuTech to print
our newsletter. If I use last month's newsletter (saved
with the Docutech selected as the printer) as a template
for this month's newsletter, everything is black and
white... no colors. I have to change my default printer
to get the colors, because the DocuTech only prints in
black and white.
Maybe this will help?
