Publisher 2002 Background Problem

I am creating a web page with Publisher, and something has gone wrong with my
background. I am using a two-color gradient, and for some reason it started
restarting the gradient about halfway down the page instead of covering it
entirely, almost like it is tiled. I can use a picture or pattern, and do not
have this problem. Even if I completely start over from no background, every
new gradient I create has the same problem. Any suggestions?

I just started over with a completely new site, and have the same issue with
the gradient. So it's nothing on my site. It can't be my browser, because it
appeared fine yesterday. Is there something in the program I'm missing? Or is
there perhaps a problem with the program? I am confused! It was working
yesterday, and I haven't changed anything.

I have never worked much with Pub 2002 for a variety of reasons...it is my
least favorite version, but if memory serves it was really buggy when it
came to gradients even with print publications. It may be that you just
aren't going to be able to use the gradient background. Does the gradient
break in the web page preview and/or after you produce the html pages?

I guess I would suggest that you be sure to download and install all the SP
for Office 2002, and perhaps check to see if there is an updated video
driver for your computer...but I kind of doubt that is the problem.

I haven't gotten past the web page preview. It looks fine in the program but
breaks in the preview. Even in a blank document with nothing added but the
gradient.

I do have SP3.

After reading about some of the issues others are having, though, I'm
thinking I should probably scratch this and try Front Page. At least I ran
into a problem early and not after putting in too much time and effort. I
certainly appreciate you taking the time to offer assistance.
