Publisher 2003 autoshape shapes dimmed out why?

Any Idea why all the shapes under the menu Arrange - Change Autoshape are
all dimmed out.

I do have a shape selected then I select from the Arrange menu Change
AutoShape but all the autoshapes available are grayed out. Any Idea MS

The only time I can find when "change Autoshape" is dimmed is when you have used the
line autoshape. You can change any of the others in this dialog. If you are not
satisfied with the line you have drawn, select "edit points" on the right click.
