Publisher 2003 Catalog/Directory

Jessica

Hello,

I have created a directory that has 7 pages already created and the 8th page
is where I would like to have my actual directory pages start. However, when
I merge the publication it opens up a new page with all of my directory
information, instead of entering the data on page 8 where the data belongs.
Please advise. Thanks

Tammy

I can only suggest your doing your merge and in step 5 create a new publication.
Add the 7 pages to the front of the directory after the merge.

If you create your seven pages separately, you can add the merge to this
publication in step 5.

Hi Mary,

Guiding me in the direction to use page 5 assisted me in figuring out the
rest, and here is what I discovered that worked out successfully

Where I was attempting to add the 7 page, I had to close out that particular
publication and start a new one. Once I start a new publication, including
setting the page format, I select the data from the data source file, I
created a new template with the exact same settings in the old publication,
and continued to follow the steps up until I got to STEP 5, at that point I
selected ADD TO AN EXISTING PUBLICATION, and followed all of the steps, which
then allowed me to attach to the old publication, the merge new exactly where
to start page 8. This was a successful

Thanks

Hey Jessica, Glad you worked it out. The catalog merge is a great tool. Thanks
for sharing your experience. It is appreciated.
