Publisher 2003 Pictures Issues

It's a good thing today is Friday..... I've been sitting here reading posts
about other people having issues with Publisher and pictures. Here's my
issue. I have a large publisher file. It contains many pictures. I've been
working on this file for over a month now. One or two of my pictures (not
the same ones each time) keep "disappearing". When I print the document, the
picture is still not there. Here's what I have noticed. The box around the
picture is still right where I left it. If I right click on the box, the
tool bars that come up are for AutoShapes. Which leads to me question, if I
inserted a picture.. and the picture was there.. A few days later I open
the document and work on it and a few pictures are now turned into an
autoshape instead of a picture. Mind you, these are pages of the document I
have not even touched changing. WHY! Why, I say is this happening?

Now I turn to those who still have some brain left on a Friday afternoon.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into the possibility you might need an upgraded video driver? Or
maybe you are simply experiencing memory issues. How big is the file?

You can check the graphics driver issue by sliding down the acceleration on the
adapter. Control, panel, display folder, settings tab, advanced button,
troubleshoot tab. If the images seem okay after you change the acceleration,
then update your driver by going to the manufacturer's web site.

Currently the file is 42MB. Would a video driver actually make an inserted
picture change to an inserted shape in publisher? It's not doing it all the
time. It's not doing it to all the pictures.

Sure it could.

Try reducing your Graphics Hardware
Acceleration as Mary suggested and
see if there is an improvement.
