publisher 2003 powerpoint on website

Ok, I have created the publisher file and saved it as a web page. I have
created the Powerpoint slide show and saved it as a web page. I have linked
the powerpoint window in publisher to the file on my website. It doesn't
work. I have named it very simply 'welcome'. Is it correct to assume that
the URL link would be, http://www.yourwebsite.biz/yourpowerpointname.htm or
is is http://www.yourwebsite.biz/index_files/yourpowerpointname.htm or could
it even be http://www.yourwebsite.biz/powerpointfilename_files/frame.htm?

Are any of these correct? None of them work. What is an example of the
link that needs to be created.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I have been fooling with this for
over a month now.

I can't know the answer to your question without knowing where you uploaded
the PP web.
You have to know where you uploaded it.
Where you uploaded it is it's URL.
Can you browse to the PP web home page directly?
If so then you know it's URL and hence where you uploaded it. Simply copy
that url from the browsers address bar and paste it in the hyperlink dialog
of Publisher when setting the link.
If you've lost track of where you uploaded files then use your hosts online
file manager tool to review the file structure you created.

question though, please? Why does the website load to slowly. If you have
time please check http://www.antiqueguide.biz and click on the navigation bar
for Blue Moon to then link to see the working slideshow. And actually still
more, when I use publish the website(in Publisher 2003) it doesn't work, it
stops responding. I called tech support and they never solved it. I publish
to another folder on my computer and the copy and paste to my website. Is
there an easier way to update then simply starting all over each time? I
usually update this site 5 to 6 times a year.

I want you to know that it takes time but if you use this message board and
follow the links you can learn. I have been pounding it for about a month
and got really close to finishing my project. It did appear in the web
browser and that's where I got my URL link. I was on the right path and your
help put me at the end.

Because PP is not a good way to produce a web slide show, and the
slides/images are large files (too large).

Pub 2003 web files do load a bit slowly as a general rule, and as Rob said
one of the main culprits for slow loading sites are images, and image sizes.
In Pub 2003 you can compress your images and improve the loading speed
somewhat, but this isn't going to help with your PowerPoint slide
show...that you should probably redo in Publisher, or research an
alternative slide show format. Most image editing applications have slide
show functions that would probably work better that PP, and you could Google
for others. Here is an article about compressing your images in Publisher:

I would also suggest that you consider reducing the size and optimizing the
images in a third party image editing application before you insert them
into Publisher.
